Did you know? 'StabiliTrak' Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control. Helps the vehicle respond to steering commands and limits wheel slip to get you moving on slippery surfaces.

Summary: A how to thread for doing the "wig wag drl" mod. This looks best on the cladded Avy's . Basically you use a relay to open the circuit to your drls whenever your turn signal flashes.
AS WITH ANY ELECTRICAL MOD, I RECOMMEND YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST A quick overview on this: Putting a relay using the normally closed pin on the relay in your DRL circuit and then triggering it to OPEN the DRL circuit using power from the turn signals. What this does is causes the DRL to go out whenever the turn signal flashes. We used 4x4Dreamers 02 for the write up. My avy is in the video at the end. Keep in mind that this works very well in the daytime and is really impressive once you've done the Full time DRL mod so it's visible at night also.
This is the parts I used and the way I wired it on my 04
12V 5pin relay Parts ran less than $20 shipped, One bosch relay at the parts store will cost you about $15 alone. You will need to add some wiring to reach from where the relay is mounted down to the DRLs. I did this using 16 ga wire in Red and blue ( I think the factory wire is 20 or 22 ga), taped them together and put my connections on before I even started. I would use about 30" of wire to make sure you have plenty of slack which can be tied up out of the way with a wire tie. All of my connections were coated with a anti-oxidizing grease and shrink wrapped where needed
Power sources...
DRL Power...Blue Wire---------------------------You will need to cut this wire and put it "through" the relay It's easiest to work on this if you take both the fog light and drls bulbs out so you don't have to lay under the avy and try to work upside down. Driver side Turn Signal...Light Blue Wire Passenger side Turn Signal...Dark Blue Wire This pix shows the right side and as you can see the red arrow indicates the end of the "harness extension" I made. The yellow shows the DRL wire I cut
We mounted the relay behind the turn signal assembly. *Note, there is not much room unless you mount the relay under the metal frame work
For a ground (white wire in pix) we drilled into the metal frame and scraped a little paint to ensure a good ground. These areas were also coated with the anti-oxidizing grease.
Use a "T -Tap" connector to wire into the turn signal wire. (Yellow circle)This provides power to the relay to open the DRL circuit.
Wire connections to relay... 87 is the normally opened and is not used!
87a is normally closed...This will be the wire going to the drl. RED WIRE IN RELAY HARNESS 30...This is the other wire from the drl, the wire that comes from the fuse panel. BLUE WIRE IN RELAY HARNESS 86...Ground to body. WHITE WIRE IN RELAY HARNESS 85...Tap into Turn Signal power. BLACK WIRE IN RELAY HARNESS The YELLOW WIRE IN THE RELAY HARNESS IS NOT USED
Reconnect battery and have someone help you check to make sure all is good. REMEMBER, your DRLS only come on with the truck turned on (doesn't have to be running), the truck in gear and the parking brake OFF. BE SAFE! Have someone you trust turn the key on, PUT FOOT ON BRAKE DURING TESTING and put the truck in gear. They operate the turn signals and 4way flashers while you stand off to the side of the avy to check operation. *NOTE* the 02 FTDRL mod will allow the DRLS to be on with just the key on, the truck doesn't have to be in gear.
Once you verify that the DRLS "wigwag" with the turn signals, put everything back together.
