The beginning of the end....
« on: March 03, 2007, 08:12:36 PM »
I have dabbled in almost everything in my lifetime. I'm a gearhead by birth, and I aquired some otehr skills along the way. All of course, are car related. I did custom car audio/video/security for almost a year before I moved on the beer sales. With that said, I have done almost everything to a car, audio wise, that you can think of.

Here is the set up I had in the ZR2 (previous to the AV)...quoted from another forum...

All the coax speakers are in a working nicely as well.

I figured out that the hole for this monstrosity of a subwoofer needs to be a little wider, but other than that, all measurements have been right on the money.

Jenson 7" Wide Touchscreen. I know, you are all saying, "Jenson, what the fuck?" Well, ALL flipout monitors are made by Audiovox. Plus, when you get the 4 year protection plan like me, if it brakes, I get a new one. :D

Kicker 0 Guage, Dual Amp Kit.

6 1/2" and 6x9

Custom Single 12" Slot Port Box w/ Amp Rack

Kicker 650.1 Mono Amp

The Bohemouth Comp VX

The Cover panel for the box and the amp is under construction. When finished, you will only be able to see the amp, and the sub. Thats why the under box isn't carpeted but under the the amp, and on the bottom (keeps it from sliding around).

Well, I finished the install of the sub box and speakers last Friday. The last time I posted pics the box was just setting in the back of the Blazer. I am posting some pics of the install, and some pics of the cover panel that I finished today. All in all, I think the cover panel came out quite nicely. I even left myself enough room for a second battery, and a four channel amp (between the back of the box and the back seat).

I am in the hunt for (2) 7" monitors to get fiberglassed into the roof behind the overhead console. :D

Here are the pics of the install and the final cover panel.

:bwahaha: The sub is also broken in. I got the amp set today as well. :D

What do you think? :dunno:

The ZR2 also had the DEI Python 871XP Remote Start/Alarm/Keyless entry with the power window modulators.

I have since taken all that out, and started on the AV. It began with the head unit tonight along with the direct connect Sirius Radio. (I will have pics tomorrow). Yes, I put a double DIN Panasonic into a DIN and a half 02 opening. Radio went in nice with some minor modification to the sub-dash. The 02 dash piece, or course, had to be cut to accommodate the larger radio. Its cut, and awaiting fiberglass in the spare time I have in the next couple weeks.

Then its on to the beats! :thumb:

I'm going to try to get pics of the unfinished install today. I still have the dash piece to finish, but you will get the idea.

Pics to follow....stay tuned! ;D

Heres the radio...pre-fiberglassed dash trim...

I also installed a brushed stainless gauge trim as well. It breaks up the dash a little.

Looks like a pretty clean install as it is, can't wait to see the glass-work. :thumb:

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.
