Thought I would post here as well.. Maybe get a few out of the woodwork so to speak.. ( Yes self included)

Steak dinner at the Deer Lodge in Helen GA 2010

As we did last year we will meet at the pharmacy and soda fountain located at 19 E. Jarrerd St at 2:00. It is located in the square in downtown Cleveland right next to the Newspaper office. Full address is shown below.

Caravan to Helen for some sightseeing and shopping around 3:00. From there we will head over to Deer Lodge for the best steak in Georgia.

By the way, according to the manager at Sonic, it's going to take at least 4 months to rebuild. Who knew it would take so long to put a new drainage pipe in place, back fill, re-concrete, and restore the store? Apparently that takes way more time than I anticipated, especially with lots of folks looking for work.

Ummm, I have a quick question. It may be out of the question, and I'm not positive about what I speak, BUT I was wondering if anyone might have one of those little rubber boots that goes on the latch of the tailgate. (Inside where the actual locking takes place) Seems that mine has torn and I'm thinking that Viper was saying that the boot is the cause of my problem where the tailgate doesn't lock. If anyone has one, I'd love to have it fixed. I just have no idea what I'm doing with that sort of thing.

Yes. I've got one and you can have it......if I can find it.

No. I tried that same locking test.....the tailgate lock with and without that "rubberthingee"

UGA is gonna loose Saturday!

Heck Eric, I don't have one on either side of my tailgate. I never knew there was supposed to be anything on there until about a year ago.

Not the little bumpers on the tailgate, but the little rubber boot behind the bezel inside the workings of the tailgate. The lock, whenever I hit it, makes a sound much like a mini machine gun back there, but never locks. I think it's supposed to keep dust and water out of the mechanism, but mine is torn and apparently causes the problem.

And by the way Zora, Dawgs win Saturday in a close one. Ealey, T King, O Charles, and K Durham along with a MUCH improved D will be too much for the Palmetto State Poultry.

.....After a cocky Saturday, you might need to trade for a dawg red 2011.

Gotcha.. Mine has always been loud, had to open it up a few weeks ago to give it a little WD40 as it stopped working for a while..
Not bad after 6 years.. Hard to believe that, as it was installed at one of the early Modding in Macon GTGs
So yours stopped all together?? You are talking about a power lock correct??

Yes sir! The power lock is what I'm talking about. Viper told me a little WD 40 might help, but the boot is ripped, torn, something.

WD40 is a water displacement liquid. Doesn't help much with corrosion. Try a silicone spray to ease up the mechanism a little.

By the way, I won't be at the Soda Fountain. My niece is having a birthday party that same day, so I have to be there for a little while, but I will meet up with you guys in Helen for our trip up to the Deer Lodge. By the way, Oktoberfest just began yesterday too.

It was a fun night even if I didn't get to be there as early as I hoped I would. I tried. It was good to see some old friends and to meet some new ones.

Sorry I brought the camera, but it never left the duffle bag so no pics from me..
Had a fantastic time seeing everyone, and my other half enjoyed everyone as well..
Breakfast was great at Hofers, but I never did see Jen A while we were in town...

Did you at least see all the production trucks and such around town? She is apparently staying up around Lake Burton, but that's not very far from Helen.
