Looking To Buy Some Replacement Stuff!
« on: August 11, 2010, 06:54:58 PM »
I need:

The drainage grate where the bed meets the midgate, or just the flap with the hinge on it. (Mine rusted.)

The plastic piece up all around the 3rd brake light. (Mine cracked.)

A whole grille basically since I can't just get the chrome bar in the middle. (Mine faded.)

Have you thought about painting the powerbar to match your Avy? If it's just faded, I noticed in your avatar area you have the words "Black it out" there. Just a thought. Mine was looking pretty bad too so I painted mine.

I'm not gonna lie, I do like that idea, but I think I'd just get a full silver emblem, thought the outline does look nice. Did you just spray paint it or get someone to professionally do it or professionally do it yourself (like with a legit paint gun)?

By the way for anyone who's still checking this out for the parts I REALLY WANT to buy they are: (not positive about names)

Midgate Drain Grate (two-piece I'm guessing?)

Sailpanel Center Bar (plastic cladding around 3rd brake light)

The bowtie is not my best effort by any means. I've found a billet one on eBay I like but keep forgetting to catch it on sale.

I did the painting myself with rattle cans I had made up at a paint shop so it's color matched. Wasn't too hard. Just some light sanding and then several light coats until it was solid with some fine wet sanding after the last coat cured. I did have my local shop put the clear coat on it after several failed attempts of doing that myself.

I got my bowtie painted the easy way. I let my wife drive the truck into the back of a Silverado.  banghead1  Looks great.  Now I need her to do something to the back so I can get it painted. This way she can't blame me for spending too much on mods.  :winkani:
