Flint and I have tlked about this many times...  I know my old 02 was in my drive way June 1st of 01. Making it one of the first sold in the US. I remember taking it to The Truck'in Nat's in PA 2 weeks later and meeting the guys from GM showing the Show Orange Av there and telling them I had one outside, They did not belive me at first  :shocked: So they walked out and saw it and said it's the first prodution one they have seen.... :cheesy1:

Allow me to explain this as best as I understand. I believe the VIN#'s come in packs, they are not assigned in any particular order other than each pack is in sequence. They are safely guarded until they are used.

Let me put it another way, say you had a safe full of $100 bills and when you needed some you reached in and grabbed a pack, then scanned in the serial numbers. A pack will be used in sequence together but you didn't use all the packs in sequence, you could have grabbed lowest number pack any time or highest number first.
