Branson, Missouri
« on: July 26, 2010, 09:44:39 PM »
Let me be the first one on the new board.

My wife Debbie and I, and my daughter and her family, went to Branson, Missouri August, 2009. On the way we stopped and had lunch in Kansas City with Donnie, Darren and families as well as Chris (tdybr27). My oldest grandson (7 yrs old) still talks about the Avalanches in the parking lot, notably Tdybr27`s lights. We spent a week in Branson and made a road trip to Eureka Springs. That is a neet town. We took some back roads on the way, being from Canada, saw some things that we`re not used to. Our back roads consist of other odd things.  Especially the guy who hated Obama. Most people would put a flower bed or something in the front yard but this guy had vehicles  with `Obaminator` and the likes painted all over them. Some of the stuff I wouldn`t put on this board. Mannequins with machine guns chasing each other around and a person hanging from a noose. Stuff that we had never seen other than in the movies. Signs on the drive way threatening death to trespassers. Any way, that wouldn`t stop us from going back. The grandkids enjoyed the "Ride the Ducks" and dinner on the Branson Belle River Boat. On the way back we had lunch in Sedalia with Donnie. We had a "posh" and Debbie has made it for me a few times since. It was really good to put names to faces and we enjoyed the hospitality. :yourock: Hopefully we can repay the favor somewhere down the road.

The next trip is to PA/NJ/NY at the end of August, 2010. We plan to meet up with OBB Breckville, near Cleveland and whoever else can make it. The we'll meet up with Enkie in NY and we're in the middle of setting something up there to meet up with some easterners.  Our family, especially the grandkids, can hardly wait.

I'm not really a country music fan but it was very nice place to visit. I've learned to take our summer vacation near the end of August because the schools south of the border start about 3 weeks early than ours. Hardly any line ups   :dans2:  Makes the vacation so much more enjoyable.
