I would like to add a bed light to the other side and put them both on a switch by the tailgate.  Haven't even looked into it though.

Sorry for the off-topic, but how many miles do you have on your garage queen now?

And I'd love to have the power tailgate lock myself!
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

no help from me on that one. Sorry. I've spent over 8 hours on one before in my driveway helping/doing most of it myself. Way too time consuming.

Bought a Platinum cluster from PP almost 2 years ago and now I have one of the backlights on the fuel guage that has gone out.  Anyone have any experience to help me out with that?  Called their Tech line and they will do it for $200 and be without my cluster for 7-10 days.  Help and thanks!!   :verymad:

I've had mine apart a few times doing the stepper motor. I never did look at the lights that are in there. PrimeP wouldn't do any better than that on the repair? My factory cluster has never lost a light in it. Knock wood.

I sent PP a msg when it happened and his wife referred me to the tech line. Now I sent him another msg, but don't expect the response to be any different.

You any good with a soldering iron? Here's the write up on the stepper motor. In one of the pix you can see the bulbs.

Yep--I thought she was going to make herself a widow!!!  You're good at burning things.  Remember my T-shirts that you scorched with the light??  They all look like moths ate them now!!
I'd definitely have to get out my reading glasses to tackle something like that!!

I used a soldering iron once and melted widow's new jacket with it, remember that Ski?

Yep--I thought she was going to make herself a widow!!!  You're good at burning things.  Remember my T-shirts that you scorched with the light??  They all look like moths ate them now!!
I'd definitely have to get out my reading glasses to tackle something like that!!

Note to self. Don't let trAV do any modding at Bratfest that would require a heat source.  :cheesy1:

As long as it's not 20 degrees outside, we'll be alright.  We had been working all day in a FREEZING garage and we were teeth chattering and arms and hands trembling from the cold trying to solder stuff.....

I've seen trAV smile and help others with their modding while wearing one of these.

That was indeed a BRUTAL day of modding!!!!!!!!!!!  It took me a week to thaw out!!  I have to say that the sail panel lights are still my favorite mod though!!   :cheesy1:  The soldering iron wasn't putting off that much heat.  Trying to use the wife's jacket for kindling!!   :verymad:

How much work is it to move the trailer wiring plug to the bumper? That is definately something I would like to get done just not comfortable doing it by myself. Other than that I have some LED's I would like to  get put under the dash and wired in. I might think of some other stuff later.

I've not seen anyone move the plug before. Does the plug detach from where it's mounted now? Are you talking about putting it flush mount in the bumper?

I sent PP a msg when it happened and his wife referred me to the tech line. Now I sent him another msg, but don't expect the response to be any different.

Just as I thought.  Response back from PP.

Hello, sorry but they only honor up to the warranty expiration.  I would live with it or open it up and try to fix the light yourself.  I mean, what are you going to do, break it?  :verymad:  :verymad:  :verymad:  :verymad:  :verymad:

I don't remember how long it took me; it's been too long ago but I don't remember it taking more than an hour and suspect it's closer to a half hour. It's a simple hole saw cut of the proper size, then cut the "keys" into the cladding. I did that with a stout-bladed razor knife (I didn't have a Dremel tool at the time and beggars can't be choosers). As I remember it I used a Sawzall to cut the stock bracket off and used it as a template for the "keys". It's really a pretty simple operation.

Would really like to get a key fob connected to the HORN. Also if someone (OBB) knows how to link my sails to the turns only w/o the brakes that would be sweet.

Parts list?

I use a Pilot 4 channel remote for my horn and strobes.  Just like Shopolot's only without the water :evil5: I'm at work right now so it's a little hard for me to dig up that part number. The lights won't be a problem. Just have to move a wire from the trailer wiring to the tail light.

Need to repair Gale's tailgate torsion bar, when it was originally done (Bratfest V) the hole was drilled in the wrong spot (off about 3/8").  The torsion bar is coming out of the bottom of the tailgate, when you look at the bar with the tailgate open (left side of tailgate) it's not straight either.   banghead1

The trailer plug would be installed next to the license plate opposite the lock for the spair. I know the new Silverado's have them there.

Is that the only thing you want them tied into is the Turns? If so, nope. Turns only you don't want a resistor that way they get full light when flashing.

IIRC, when I ordered that case, the breakdown came to $42 per can. That's a nice savings.

If anyone orders another case, I could probably sell 2-3 of them locally, as well as one for myself and one for my cousin in NY.  I did his AV while he was here a few weeks ago and he loved it.  Actually, I work with a guy who has a detail shop and sells Jax-Wax products...he might want to buy a case as I know he does a few AV's...if he does, I'll buy another can or two from him.

There's still a few weeks...isn't it enough time?  I've never ordered any...I bought mine at Bratfest 2 years ago.

I don't know if that would be enough time. Someone would have to call Ditchek to check availability.

You can add me to the order if anyone is sending one out.  I would love to get my hands on this stuff.  I still don't know about work, but even if I can't make it I can always send the funds electronically if needed!

I received my can of Refinish Restorer from Ditchek but don't plan to use it on mine, it's for Gale's.  I also just ordered our (16) sail panel LED's and holders from Oznium.  I guess I need some wire and scotch locks or posi-taps, what will I need to connect to the tail lights?  I want to make mine work with the tails, turns and the brake lights.

I've got the wire, scotchlocks and I think both the diodes and resistors. Some posi taps would be good.

You missed it. I said I've got the wire. It's 22ga single strand. The same stuff I've used on mine and a bunch of others. Posi-taps, I think the blue ones whatever ga that covers.

Where can I find the posi taps and how many will I need for 2 AV's? I did a quick search at the Shack but didn't see them.

Any parts store. posi taps, t-taps. inline splice. something along that name. I think 4 per Avy but it may be 6. Brain is too frazzled right now to figure it out. Bed time for this guy.

Look under your hood at the connectors we used for tapping into your turns for the wig wag mod. We need the blue one for 14-18ga or something like that.
This reminds me, I need to check my diode, resistor and shrink tube inventory.

Just don't buy any of these or BD will have a heart attack. 2funny

Went and got the 2nd cargo light off of a wrecked EXT today.  I want to wire the bed lights together and run it strictly off of a switch inside the bed.  Makes no sense to me to have the button in the cab and want to disable it.  Has anyone done this or can give me some guidance in what I need to accomplish this?  Thanks!

My 03 came with both lights, but putting a switch in the back is one of my favorite mods.  The way mine is wired, I believe I can turn the lights on with either switch, but I don't use the inside switch any longer.  The indicator by the inside switch works even when the lights are turned on by the switch in back.  I wired mine per the instructions that were on TOS.  It's been 7 years and the details are definitely quite fuzzy in my mind.  Not having to run wiring to both sides definitely made things easier.

I was at the junkyard yesterday going through a wrecked EXT, but the tank was in the bed.  I could check if the straps are still there!

I've got the fuel tank straps on order from my buddy at the dealer, they should be in Sat morning.

You might check out a local boat retailer for a marine rated switch.

I was at the junkyard yesterday going through a wrecked EXT, but the tank was in the bed.  I could check if the straps are still there!

I've got the fuel tank straps on order from my buddy at the dealer, they should be in Sat morning.

Thanks to both of you guys  :yourock:
