I've got an idea - why don't we see if Gateway is running a test & tune on Friday or Saturday night and tie a visit in to try some 1/4-mile runs? I'll check their schedule and post back.

I've already got a vacation day scheduled for that Fri so we can travel then (although traffic will stink) and have 2 full days over that way. If you find out they have it for Sat we'll go spectate. No fun running a stock avy down the track for me. If not, then I think a trip to the casino is in order for us.

Gateway's a no go for the weekend. They've got a Yenko club event Friday and Saturday, with drag races on Friday night. The nearest test & tune date is on the 7th.

It appears that Days Inn is no longer a Days Inn closed.  He gave me a number for the Super 8.  Any ideas where you want to stay?  Local peoples opinions?   That was such a convenient place too.

I tried to call also. Nobody answered so I called Show Me's. They're changing the Days Inn to a senior home. There's a Red Roof Inn around the corner but I'm sure they don't have much as far as a pool or anything.

Embassy Suites has always been one of my all-time favorite hotels to stay at. The hot meal in the morning is made-to-order if you want. I'm not a big drinker so the free drinks is not a super big attraction for me.

If they had an outdoor pool, that is what they have torn up.

There are a bunch around there on 5th street.

Hmm,,found a Country Inn & Suites in St. Peters about 1 mile west of where we normally stay that seems to have availability for an average of $70 a night. ONLY drawback to that is, you have to pay in full with a C.C. 21 days before your stay. Fowlhunter is going to take a quick look at it and get back to me in a little while.

We talked about this a little last night. We'll all take a look at the other shelters and maybe pick one next year that's closer to the playground and the restrooms. There never seems to be a lot of people in the park so parking shouldn't be a problem.  We'll figure it out this year and see what the majority thinks.

I've been working on my truck in this heat. I spent about 3-1/2 hours out in the garage on Sunday afternoon in 98* heat adding 1/2" of spacers to the rear springs; the drop springs settled out some and I wanted to raise the rear back up a little. I think I almost got heat exhaustion because I didn't stop or drink anything and there was no air circulation underneath the truck.

I also am ready to cut the first hole in the hood for my functional Grand Prix GTP louvers tonight. I made the template for the passenger side, taped the cut lines on the hood off, and got the air saw ready to go last night. Once I get the hole cut tonight I'll add the hole to my template and get the passenger side ready to go.

Well, I am trying to keep the sweat from dripping off of my nose and into the tranny while I'm working on it.  I figure that can't be good for the thing.  I don't think your springs or spacers would be too badly affected by a little sweat.

I have the contact list from last year, if your # hasn't changed since then.  If nothing major is planned on Saturday, we'll probably just come up Saturday AM.  Haven't made reservations yet, but wife has discounts through work (UPS) so will put that in stone today or tomorrow when we figure out when we are going and how many are coming with us.  We're game for dinner/drinks Saturday night.  I'll check your post on your accomodations and see if we can slide in there.

Wow, we couldn't have picked a better day.

It was great to see old and new friends.

Thanks to all that contributed to the attendance prizes, I picked up a sweet UPS cooler.

The food was great, thanks to all that brought their favorites.

It was nice to get the AV out to play trucks again.

As always it was a great time and you couldn't have asked for better weather. As usual, OBB was in the middle of every mod that was done. And a certain Blue truck showed up under its own power!  I always look forward to seeing everyone and what's been done to the trucks in a year.

I'll echo the thanks to BNasty for cooking and Fowlhunter for getting the shelter and add thanks for everyone that showed up. We had a good turnout and a lot of fun.

And thanks for bringing out the Vette, Richie, and adding fuel to my already simmering "get another Vette" fever!    I've been trying very hard to resist.  I really do like the CTS a lot but it's not a Vette. 

I forgot to add a special thanks to everyone who donated prizes for the drawing and to Donnie for offering his bedslide to me. I'll make very good use of it.

It was great seeing everyone again. I wasn't sure if I would make it or not and that is why I never said a MAYBE. Didn't know for sure until Fri morning that I would be there. My youngest came with me and had a graet time seeing all the Avs and meeting some folks.

Gina feels really bad she couldn't come but she has been fighting a kidney infection and stones for a while now. She will be tehr efor Fire N Ice.

Ski, I remember setting that little gizmo down in your truck and then forgot about it. Let me know if you find anything valuable with it.    Although, I'm sure Didit would like to have something like that next time you see him  Maybe we should date that thing and make it a habit of hiding it in another members truck at the next GTG.
