Not really. Never seen them before.  Search for JBA spark plug wires on eBay and see what comes up. They should be around $50 or less.

I've always had real good luck with Bosch Plugs, and MSD wires, Not sure if MSD makes wires for this application but Bosch does.

I ran NGK TR55IX plugs when I was NA.  I really liked them, Main One is still running the ones that I had.  I had to go to a cooler plug when I went FI.

As for plug wires, I run Taylor TV50's.  They're about $80 but I have no complaints.

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.

I had to use a swiveling plug wrench with one of those T-handles. My ratchet wouldn't clear. I was P.O'd too. It looks like there's enough space but if there is I couldn't find it.

In my '04 there is plenty room to work on the passenger side. I had littloe trouble removing the plug on the drivers side closest to the firewall. No need for a swivel wrench for me.

You should try to change cyl #1 (drivers side front) with a Vortech supercharger sitting right on top of it.  It can be done but it took me as long as the other 7 combined.  :-\

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Aaaahhh, Bob, the things we do for toys! Butch, just be carefull that it isn't crossthreaded or you might be tapping threads before your chore is done and that is a complete pain with the head on the motor and in the truck. I went through that with one of my old trucks.

Ya I know what it sounded like. That means that it came from the factory like that.Does that mean if I take it to a dealer ship that they will warranty that.I do not have one on it ,but if it came from the manufacture like that then....???? It would make sense kinda wouldnt it?Hog

I don't know if that would be covered or not but it might be worth checking in to if it would avoid any potential major trouble.
I take mine to the dealer whenever I run into tough situations cause I'm afraid of screwing up  something that may cost more to fix than if I just take it there in the first place. :dunno:

:wtf: Just doing a tune up besides the oil change(oil stiil looks clean).Drove over to Ohio and what do you know gas milage got even worse.Thinking that this would have got better milage, but due to new aged computer s**t, I figured It would take a while for it to get used to it.So I have the result of going to a local shop and haveing them scan it to find why the hell it seems like this(I was in a nascar race yesterday on the way home).Knowing I was going to get between 9-10 mpg,I tried to do about 90 or so all the way here :fast:(that was the cool part of the trip)So I said Id keep you guys posted and this is waht I have so far.An unhappy Hog!

Are you just going by what the computer says or do you figure your milage manually? That and the milage that you are getting sounds like what I get when the weather is crappy and I have to use the auto four wheel. That drops my milage drastically.

Well, Hogwash....I made a call to my dad's lot and the service tech there said that his advice after an oil change, new filters and the tune up was to check the allignment and brakes to make sure nothing is causing any unnecessary drag and possibaly have the fuel injection looked at to see if there is a malfunction that is making the truck run richer than need be. He is going to look up whatever he can find beyond that and give me a call tomorrow and then I'll let you know if I hear anything else that seems helpful. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Ouch!!!  If I were to make a totally UNeducated guess (im not really knowledgeable), I'd say the problem is with the different plug, or the different compression ratio that has occurred because of the spark plug being turned out a bit.

If it was me, I'd take it to a reputable shop and ask them to change "1" spark plug!   ;D Thants right!  That way they have insurance and you really need to have that one changed, like I said I don't know, but I know its not a good thing to have them different, maybe not bad, but definitely not good.

Re-reading everything, you haven't gotten that front stuck plug out yet right?

I don't know what happened to everyone else when they lifted, the only setback for me was the 2+ mpg decrease!    Worth it???  Hell yes!  135,000 and running strong.

265 70 16

You have 16" factory wheels. No need to reprogram shifting points as is already done by factory. If you had bigger tires like some, then a handheld programmer should correct your speedo.

Another thing: Change your gas grade, location, etc. and see if that helps.

Hey Hog, My dad's service tech called last night and said to have the o2 sensors checked which I believe someone mentioned way earlier in this thread. He told me any dealer or reputable shop could check them to make sure that they are functioning properly and if they are not then they could easily be causing your gas milage woes.
He said that he has never seen an AV run that low of numbers unless something is wrong with the fuel delivery or the owner just drives the hell out of it and isn't keeping up with the maintenence.
I was told that a diagnostic of the o2 sensors and the fuel injection programming should only run about $35-$50. It might be worth that if it will save you from spending a fortune in gas every time you drive your truck.

No kidding thats what I was thinking it could be as well.I run Shell gas 87 octane,if that helps.I dont have a heavy foot also I dont let her get above 2500 rpms with out shifting since my milage was so bad.I think that I migt just replce th 02 sensor just to be safe.I think its about time any way 85,*** miles. Thanks, Hog

YA my dads a master mech. as well.....butt lives in FL. So a phone call is kinda useless ya know. These avy's have two or 1,02 sensors if so they run about almost 90$ a pop. That sucks but will save more in the long run I guess.Hog

My truck had 130,000 on it, sub zero temps and the idle was really bad.  When I got it above 1000 RPM's everything was fine tho.  I talked to the dealership and they ran diagnostics, they said that all 4 of the O2 sensors were running lean... They said this could be cause of my 93 octane I run, the headers, or high flow cats, directhits, or the frigid cold.  We replaced them and I noticed a big improvement at idle speed.

They were trying to tell me how the computer will sense that too much O2 or not enough will make it change the amount of gas that it puts into the engine and therefore cause it to idle up/down on me.  Haven't had a problem since tho.

Notice I said they were trying, I don't quite understand it...

There are four O2 sensors.  They are right before, and after the catalytic converter and we have 2 of those.

My dealership cost me $120.10 for each of them.  I bet you can get them cheaper tho.

Ya it weird cause I had to go through emmisions and when they pluged it in under the dash, the girl who plugged it in says shes never seen a faster response from the computer when it printed the results out.So I figured "awsome"seems to be no problems there.....................I guess I was wrong.....AGAIN!SO I will be changing out the 02 sensors. Now my next question is which ones should I change out first.Obviuosly I cant change them all out at once(funds are tight now, saving to go to fl.)Thanks guys .Hog

I read up on this on a GM forum last night and the general concensous sounds like changing the front two first as they seem to affect the overall performance of the vehicle in question more. Don't ask me why that would be cause I couldn't find a definitive explination for this but that was the advice given. :dunno:

They say that it's supposed to figure it out on it's own but they always disconnect the battery for about ten minutes to let everything clear and then it gurantees the change to take effect before the vehicle leaves the lot.

Ok, I'm looking at getting new wires and thought about the MSD's, Can anyone translate this a little easier.
  "Superior conductivity wires from MSD.
MSD's 8.5mm Super Conductor wire sets have a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot--but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire features 40 feet of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. A tough 8.5mm synthetic/silicone jacket over an extra-heavy glass braid and dielectric insulator keeps the current guided to the plugs. Underneath the high-temperature boots, dual crimp stainless steel terminals feature snap-locks to ensure a secure fit. MSD's 8.5mm Super Conductor wire sets come available in custom or universal-fit applications."
*from Summit's web site.

What's the big diff. between the 8.0 and 8.5 mm wires? the bigger the better?

OBB I'm sorry unless you are running some serious hi voltage you are wasting you money. If you are going to race or you like the look get them. Stock wires are OK.
