Electric Super Charger
« on: June 20, 2010, 07:49:11 AM »
hey yall just came across a web ad for electric super chargers has anybody had any experience with these. Seems like it might not be a bad invest for the bucks, the traditional SC's are fairly pricey. I know that with elec. SC's you wouldn't be able to make as much HPs, but I'm not really looking to go all out racing just add some additional HPs. The one I saw was $199.00 and I wouls have to add installation etc. price.Do yall think its a good investment. Any pro or con insights would be helpful.BTW yall know CAC and its members are going to put me in the poor house.

Hmmmm.....

Sounds to me like you just described the need for a programmer ...like a predator or something.  :coolsmiley:

Guys will most likely be down on the "electric supercharger".   :winkani:

Well.....I'm a little prejudiced on the subject since I'm using the predator.   :evil5:

I think you would benefit more from a tool to allow you to optimize your tuning than just using a chip or canned tune.  :dunno:

Just my opinion mind you.  Don't take insult with it.

I've got no experience with them but I can guarantee you that what you are talking about is JUNK. There is no way you could reasonably expect to get any horsepower gains with an electric supercharger for a price of $225.

Save yourself some money (it's currently at $24.95) as I suspect, from your description, you are talking about something like this fleaBay ad:

David,   all that is a hair dryer without the heat element.   Let the ricers waste the money on it.

You wont be happy with it.

oh and stay away from such items like the module attached to the CAI that they claim it will make your vehicle gain HP.   All that is a simple resistor that lies to the MAF.
