PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
« on: June 15, 2010, 12:14:35 PM »
:uglystupid2:

Hey everyone! I hope someone here may have some answers!!!  I am brand spankin to new to all of this so I hope I don't come across stupid!

I just bought a 03 Black Avalanche Z71 with the plastic cladding at the bottom. I want to see if there was any way to modify that cladding to look like the newer "slick side" AV's. I plan on lifting this thing about 6" with maybe a 2" level kit and putting some nice throaty exhaust so I don't want a tricked out body kit that's gonna make it look like a pimp-mobile...lol! I just like the "all fiberglass" look and wanted to see if there was any way to do it.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

Ask and you shall receive,

Sure there is a way, buy a whole bunch of sandpaper and take your time!

X2. You can sand it down and paint it. For the upper cladding there are kits made that just stick on after you paint them or you can really spend the big bucks and replace all the upper cladding with EXT cladding.

Thanks!!!

I'm not too worried about the top, it's all black and that's what I planned on doing to the bottom too. So just sanding that plastic and painting/clearcoat will work?? These past few days I've killed myself looking for solutions, and its that simple....

HAHA!

Thanks again y'all!!!

Well maybe not that simple. Expect to spend a few hours on it anyway. Here's some good reading here.
