New Hellwig End links.......
« on: June 08, 2010, 09:41:21 PM »
Well for those of you that have driven with me or behind me know that I drive my 6000LBS truck like a Vette.. Ask MainOne. When he was in my truck Sat he was watching how my hood stayed even when taking a turn at 60 mph..I said it's all in the Bars..He said he has done lots of Mods to his truck but that.. I said if you are going to go fast you better be able to Stop the truck and take turns fast.  You will enjoy it more...This truck has the Hellwig my last one had the Hotchkiss Anti Sway Bars.. Whats the difference? One is Cold formed so it will be stiffer.. Well I just got the New Adjustable end links from Hellwig and they will be going on this week...A review will come after a week test.....

Riding in Enkei's truck has definitely gotten me thinking of buying aftermarket sway bars.  I had never before ridden in an AV with aftermarket bars, and had been a bit worried that they would affect ride quality too much.  After Saturday I am convinced that they do not affect the ride quality very much at all from what I could tell.  After I finish buying transmission parts, I'll be seeing if I have enough mod stash left for some aftermarket bars.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

This is one turn I can take at 60 with the stock rims and tires and Hellwig sway bars..I have done it at 65 MPH with the 20's and my new tires..  I am hopeing to do it at 70 with the new links..  This is all speeds that I feel Comfy with..I won't over push it..

As one old Member from NYC learned the hard way.. I won't say his name but he was trying to follow me to a GTG in LI and flipped his Av on a VERY sharp curve..  He and his son were OK thank God  but his Av was Wrecked..There is a post in TOS about it in the NY posts...I had the Hotchkis System on my 02 he did not..

In the pic below you can see they just paved this turn. and If it was not for the Toyota in front of me I would have done it at 60... I have passed BMW's on this turn..  You should see the look in their eyes... :fast:

Ok here's a better shot..  and the links are not in yet.. I'm playing with this Porshe on the Saw mill Pky in NY. We are doing 70 around this bend uphill. Look I'm getting 20 MPG and I did pass him after a 1/4 mile..

Well I got them changed today. It was a bit of a Pain but with a little spray of oil and some (Alot  :tickedoff:) of elbow grease. I got the old ones off. The new ones with new bolts and Done. Took about 1 1/2 hour.. Did not get to go on a good cruz yet but will soon and report back....

You can see the differance in the two. Look at the joint on the bottom...
