Brake controller and air bags
« on: May 18, 2010, 10:10:50 AM »
I have a 2010 Z71 Avalanche with the tow package - but it didn't come with the built in trailer brake controller.  Has anyone added on a brake controller?  What brand and wire harness did you use.  I've hooked up quite a few brake controllers but the new electronic controls on vehicles make me nervous.

Also I'm interested if anyone has added air bags to the rear suspension?

I have a Tekonsha Prodigy. The wiring harness should have came with the Av. It wires to the controller and then just plugs in under the dash on the drivers firewall.

+1 on the Prodigy.  I just added a P2 to my 05 using the factory supplied pigtail.

That has to be the easiest mod I have ever done on a vehicle.  I spent less time than installing ham radios by far.  Something to be said about the having the wires already run from the factory......
