Air induction swap
« on: May 04, 2010, 07:34:24 AM »
hey yall i'm sure this has been asked before, but here goes. I bought 2006 a used z71 and the paperwork that came with it says that it has a high flow air filter/induction.My question is would it make much of a difference if I switched the stock AI out for an aftermarket setup, or would the gains be cost effective. thanks in advance for any input or ideas yall might have.

It will sound a bit louder when stumping on the pedal.   Not much tho' but you hear a small difference.

About gains, well probably not much either alone.   To achieve a good gain, it would need exhaust and headers.

....but i dont see why not. A gain is a gain no matter how you put it.

To this day, no one can tell which one is better. Its all about choice. I use K&N myself.

The factory setup has way too many curves, turns and pockets coming out of the box to the throttle body.  Why is that? i dont know.   An aftermaket one, it just a straight.
