Torsion Bar Fatigue

Has anyone heard of or experienced torsion bar fatigue.  Was just at the alignment shop for them to look at the AV.  I thought that the driver side seemed a little low.  I measured my wheel wells and since I got my new wheels on (with alignment) a month ago, the driver side has gone down close to 1/2".  I know that's not normal and they said that everything was tight and that the torsion bar may be fatigued.  Is this a possibility??   :verymad:

Yes.

Replaced at "about" 30 months/ 25K miles.

Ask your selling dealer about GM "goodwill" assistance.

I haven't checked mine in a while but mine was the same way, lower on the driver side.   banghead1  What about an aftermarket torsion bar?  Let me know what you come up with.

I think Earthquake had a similar experience.  I've been thinking that my truck is sitting too low in the front after 7 years and 208,000 miles and have thought about cranking up the bars.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

Can't find anything on the computer so far on aftermarket torsion bars.  Did check a couple parts stores and looking at $125 per.  Didn't get a chance to call the dealer today.   Mechanic suggested I change both of them out while I was at it.

Just for S's and G's, go compare the bolt left in each torsion key and the clearance distance of each bump stop.  That is how it was explained to me.  My passenger side torsion key has approx 3/8" more bolt and has twice the bump stop clearance compared to driver side.

Cant do that.  My bump stops are shaved, keys replaced twice and i have 2" spindles.  buck2
