HELP! I need a rear bumper!
« on: February 05, 2007, 07:27:36 AM »
Okay, so after all of this horrible weather here in Colorado, some idiot in a huge jalopy finally clipped the back of my truck and bent up the left corner of the bumper and cracked up the cladding.
GM wants $500 for the bumper, and $300 for the cover.
If someone comes across a grey, cladded one PLEASE let me know. :needhug:

Well, after all of my stressing on getting hit, I was able to pull the cladded bumper cover and straighten the bumper itself and I found a cover here in town so now I can get back to rims and those cool power locks for the back of the truck. :fast:

Good deal.  The metal bumper is pretty tough.  More often than not, in a minor accident, they just get knocked out of adjustment where the brackets bolt to the frame .

The covers aren't that expensive.  I think TnTrubble bought a new one for about $160 from a Millington Chevy.  That was back when they were giving club member a discount.

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.

i found one off of a truck that had been creamed in the front for $95.00. The bumper itself just had a nasty bend in the outside bracket on the left. :fast:

Yea, 1973 Plymouth Fury 3's have a way of inflicting quite a bit of damage with minimal effort!

Check eBay out. I ordered my front bumper cover last night from a body shop in Illinois. They have a regular website also - do a Google search on Pershing Auto Body - I don't know if they have the rear covers as I didn't look. My front cover was $252 delivered to my door, which is considerably cheaper than what the General wants.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!
