need help installing amp

ok well i got 1500 watt amp, but not quite sure how i hook it up to the battery due to the awkward terminals. just wondering how some of you guys wired your amp.

What brand amp? What size wires?  What are you hooking up? Got pics?

its a 1500 crunch amp, going to 2 1300 12" sony explodes. and its 8 guage wire. ill have pics up later

thats the wire to the left i need to attach to the terminal(red thing), how do i attach it to the terminal without messing my s*** up.

You will need to buy a stud for the side terminal that has a nut on it, remove the factory bolt in the on the + cable and install the stud then attach your power cable from the amp. Be sure to fuse the power wire from the amp but keep the fuse close to the battery.

also, be extremely careful hooking that all back up that you don't ground your wrench to the side of the truck. One of GM's bright ideas to put the hot side of the battery next to the sheet metal :idiot2:

Although that amp does not do great power. You should still use 4 Ga power and ground wire. 2nd The fuse by the battery should be within 12 Inch's of the Batt.  Ground from the amp should also be about 12 in's from the amp. Run the RCA's and the power wires on 2 differant sides of the truck..This will help in the noise dept..
