My MotherInLaw would shoot me if I took her only child out of state for a weekend camping trip. Where do I sign up? j/k Have a great time.
Bring the mother-in-law with you!
I have a tent, a rather large one at that. It is called "the condo".I was interested. Minor One less so. I guess I could come stag.
Ahhhh...gotchya! Well, Butch is doing a cabin...did you tell her about those?
She's ok with the tent - it's the mothers day weekend I think. I think she wants to be home so that her children can lavish her with love and affection (I think she's a little bit delusional) but I know she will also want to go to church. She hasn't missed a Sunday in about 5 years, whether we've been on vacation, or even when she was released from the hospital after having had surgery 2 days earlier at noon one Sunday. If we don't pack up until mid-morning, and don't get home until noonish, she'll want to find a church with evening services and she won't have the mothers day experience she wants.
Want to try to plan a group meal for possibly Saturday afternoon/evening? Just a suggestion. My wife likes to make a Shrimp Low Country Boil when we go camping. (Shrimp, Sausage, Corn on the cob, potatoes, etc) Just an idea. Talk amongst yourselves............
Okay, so do we want to 'pot luck' it? Everyone bring a dish to pass, and your own meats? Or, I could possibly get burgers and dogs with the buns, everyone else make something to go with it?I do like the sound of the Low Country Boil though! MMmmmmm!!
We'll have an extra EZ Lift bar for sale at the GTG if anyone is interested, 30 bucks or best offer with a minimum reserve!Didit
Only a few more days!! Can't wait!!Don't bring firewood...they are really cracking down on bringing in wood to the state parks...some kind of bug infestation concern.Bundles are $4.50 at the store there...store is open until 9:00 on Friday...See you Friday!!!!!
It's that ash borer bug.
It's that ash borer bug. That law is all over the place right now. Ever see the purple triangle looking things hanging from trees along the highway? That's how they're tracking the infestation.
Minor One and I are still looking to visit on Saturday, and would love to participate in a pitch-in dinner or lunch. Is that still in the works, and if so, about what time. (I wouldn't want to miss all of the good eats!) Also, what is needed that we could bring?
We are still definitely doing the pitch-in dinner. Went out and got everything for the Shrimp boil today. CntrySngr72 should chime in soon with times, etc.....Glad you folks are coming!
Broke down. 15 miles N of Bowling Green. Tranny. Tow on the way.
OMG say your kiddin Brian, ughhhhh
Talked to my guy at 4 Wheel Parts (installed body lift) and they are going to take care of tow and all repairs!
What happened, what was the cause of the break down?
Ah, well, now I feel a bit better about hauling my camper! I'm also glad to hear that you're getting it paid for! That's good to hear! So...when's the next GTG??

Ski - sorry to hear about your breakdown, but glad someone else is going to cover the repairs. We might be up for camping. Mothers Day weekend was bad for us as Minor One wanted it to be a special day for our expecting daughter.
Yea, me too! Update: Chevy dealer got the new lines on and fluid in and recommend replacing the tranny. 4 Wheel Parts is taking me up there tomorrow and they are going to get my trailer and we're going to take it to a transmission shop for 2nd opinion. $360 for lines, fluid and labor. Estimate on whole deal is $3200+.
I'm still holding out for a bedslide myself...
Replacing the tranny, Ouch!!! I sure hope they (4 Wheel Parts) step up to the plate to make everything right. Keep us posted brother. Also glad to hear about the bedslide!!!!!
Me and you both, north of the border they're about $800 cdn. Steel Slide sells them for $580 US with carpet and shipping to a US address. The dollar is pretty good right now so I'm seriously considering it.
Have it sent to my house and I'll deliver it in August when you come through this way.
