2002 All on High

I've seen several threads for 2003 and newer but can anyone help with a 2002 z-71?

on my 02 i just gave the low beams a permanent ground. I attached a wire from the core support to the ground going to the bulb. 5 years now. with hids for 3 of them

there is a more convoluted way but it was above my skill level

I've got a pix of how to do it under the fuse box somewhere. I'll try to dig it up this weekend.
Like A_A said. you just have to ground a wire and I'm trying to remember which one. There is also a wire you move in the fuse box to give you full time DRLs. It all can be done in about 15 mins.

With the easy in-cab fuse box method you might be able to do it in 15 minutes. Mine's been done since mid-2002, shortly after I bought the truck. There was only one method posted at the time and it involved the underhood fusebox. That method took me at least an hour; you have to run a ground wire from the back of either a fuse or a relay in the box, I don't remember which. If memory serves, the ground wire I ran was yellow so I'm guessing the wire (which had to be the ground) on the fuse/relay was yellow also.

EDIT: I went back and reviewed some posts on TOS and confirmed that the yellow wire is in fact the ground. The easiest way to have all 4 on hi is to simply ground the yellow wire at the headlight connector and you're done (that's what Alaska indicated he did).

I keep meaning to do the one from under the green connector in the underhood location, When in there I may even do the diode mod for fogs on with highs.  Good luck!!

Under the fuse box is also where I've moved the wire for the full time DRLS on the '02s. There's a bolt right under the fuse box that I run the ground to for the all on high mod. Takes about 8" of wire and a wire loop connector to go under the bolt. The full time fogs is also under there by placing a diode between 2 wires.

Correct, move from one location to another.  I didn't realize there was a bolt under there to connect the wire for the all on high mod, I've seen guys solder a longer yellow wire to the two under the fuse box then run the wire out to ground by the red box. Yeah, I think the diodes go between a purple and green wire or something like that?  I'd have to dig through my favs to locate.

In the 02 you can ground a wire to do full time DRLs at the PCM under the dash. I added a switch to let them be normal.

I also added a switch to another wire to kill the door chime.
I would have to look what they were.

Ok, I zipped over to MrGoodwrench520's place after work today and took some pix to put together a write up.

It can be found in the Tech Articles section under lighting mods or you can simply click this LINK

Let's try this one. I added a couple of pictures of the "ground the yellow wire at the headlight" version of the mod.
