Tailgate Painting
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:27:07 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it would be to remove the the claded part at the bottom part of the taigate as I am thinkng of painting mine body color as it seems out of place on a WBH as well as it would be another mod on the list. :thumb:

I haven't personally removed one but have seen the pics and have an piece of that cladding and all that there is double-sided tape.  I guess with a heat gun would be the easiest way, just gotta make sure you don't deform the cladding. Probably gonna spend the most of your time cleaning up all the tape and have a sore thumb after.

I wonder how expensive that piece is, incase I damaged it. If it isn't to expensive have a new one and get it ready for when you take off the old one. I found this pic on the national site so I know where the tape is now.
