The new muffler is on!
« on: January 13, 2010, 03:57:06 PM »
I got the new Hooker Maximum Flow muffler installed this morning. It's definitely louder than the Gibson was. I was going to save the Gibson but it ended up going in the trash. The muffler had a very small hole in it and the exhaust pipes had rusted through at the back of the muffler at the back side of the clamps. The new system is welded; hopefully it will last longer than the 6+ years that the Gibson lasted.

So where are you, Chevyfan?  :fast:

Sounds good.  I thought your Gibson was pretty quite for a performance muffler when I rode in your truck.  Hopefully you will like the new sound.

When I was under the truck a couple of weeks ago for the tranny swap, while reinstalling the driveshaft I noticed that my pipes after the muffler were in REALLY BAD shape.  Had a hole about the size of a quarter in them.  The flowmaster looked ok, but then again I wasn't able to look it over real well with it installed.  From the bottom it looked ok.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......
