Intro from IN...
« on: January 27, 2007, 06:54:17 PM »
Long-time listener, 1st time caller...  May not do much work to the AV until Spring (got it in NOV as a winter truck) when I get out the Summer truck.   The AV does need shoes, though.  I want to put 285 or 295/70/17's on stock wheels for now.  Will I have interference issues...?

You should be able to put either size on stock wheels.  I'm running 285/60/18s on 18x10 wheels.  I've got some rubbing due to these wheels having a wider stance than the stock wheels and I get rubbing at full wheel turn of the outside edge of the tire on the back of the wheel well.  See the pic below.  Sorry for the poor focus.

M1

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

I've thought about it, but living down by Bloomington it's a long haul, and I'm going to Cincinnati Friday night.  If I wasn't going to be staying up into the wee hours and spending the night in Cincy, I'd probably be there.

Welcome PaintPro!  :D

I'm sure that you'll be fine with 285/70/17's on stock wheels.  Several people have done those.  I know there isn't much difference in 285's and 295's but you may get a little bit of rubbing with them.

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.
