GM12-AUXv2
« on: February 15, 2010, 11:38:33 AM »
Hey everyone.... I am new to this site as I just bought an 05' Z71.  I am looking to add a GM12-AUXv2 to support my iPod.  I was wondering how it is to remove the dash to facilitate the installation.  Any experience with this?

 :welcome:

If removing the dash is what youre looking for,  simply set the emergency brake ON,  drop the steering wheel, drop the gear to 1 and pull the dash.  Its held by snap-on clips.

Then the radio is held in with a couple of small screws. You don't have much room to work behind the radio. I just put in an IPOD adapter as well. I need to pull it back out though, I am having some problems with it.

Mine was an ISimple brand but I have been having problems with it. I bought it used and I think there is a wiring issue with the kit.

Thanks Donnie!  See the post I just posted in regards to the ISimple kit.  Do you (sorry, Gina) have the 6-disc in dash CD changer?

Yes it is the 6 disk changer. I'll take a look at your other post. The problem I was having is it caused teh XM to start popping through the right front speaker and at times would register an error for the IPOD. As I was troubleshooting, I could move the wiring going to the ISimple box and it would clear up.
