Clear coat lifting
« on: February 03, 2010, 09:34:47 AM »
Are any of ya'll having issues woth you clear coat peeling?  :verymad: It is only on the pass side of my Avy.  Started on the rear pass quarter above the fender well, then above the rear pass door and now I've got bubbles starting to form on the rear pass door.  This is the side that is most exposed to the sun where I park.

The body shops want anywhere from $950 to $1200 to repair the damage.

Any ideas or suggestions?

That's what the dealership is saying.  They say it is a fairly common problem with the Silverados but not the Avalanches.

I saw that also, BD, and mentioned it to the dealership body shop manager and he said he had never seen the clear coat lift on an Avalanche.  I told him to come outside and look at mine and he would see it.  All of my lifting is on the passenger side, from the back of the front door to the rear.
