Ladies and Gentleman .... start your Go-Kart ..... time for some smack talk

... some challenges to be laid down .

... some ass whoopin to be had ....

I finally got off my butt and called KART2KART .... Talked to Jeff and got the low down .... check them out at www.Kart2Kart.com

The best way for us to race is to go with the Grand Prix style racing .... we get three races ... Practice ... Qualifing ... and then 8 laps of racing .... these Karts are not the ones you would find at your local go karts place or at Putt-Putt if they hard karts ... these are hard core
cars that you would see the teens and pre-teen kids racing on the tracks today ....

we would race in groups of 12 so the more people we have the better ... cost is $45.00 a person ....

he doesn't NOT recommend that we rent the track because if we have more than 24 people, yes it is cost effective but to get us all the time we would need it would take about 1.5 hours so at $1100 an hour you can see the cost would add up quickly plus getting even groups of 12 make it that much more tough ....

I can reserve a time for us but we would still be dealing with other customers but we could still race together ....

so I'm looking at... 3/20 ... he already has a Corvette club scheduled for the afternoon of the 13th (didn't say what time exactly) ... but he has no reservations, so far for the 20th .....

As far as cost to reserve the time is only $45 ... so I can cover that with my cost of racing ....

So I look to the members here .. let me know what day you would rather race the 13th or the 20th and what time you would like to race. I think if we race at 3 that we need to get there at least 30 minutes before our scheduled time

And remember we race in groups of 12 so the more people we have the better.

I'm leaning towards 3/20 at 3 pm then maybe we can go to dinner after? ... I don't know the area so if someone can tell us what places to eat are around there we can deside on an place to go ....

Let me know as soon as possible and I will call him back either this w/e or monday to make sure we can get the date and time that is best for most everyone ...

how do you guys and gals feel about getting burgers afterwards? .... I just did a little searching via mapquest and found a Fudruckers

about a mile south of the place. Been a long time since the last time I was at a Fuddruckers ..... they have awesome food! .... with tons of toppings! ...

Visit there website .... www.fuddruckers.com for an idea ....

Rather go somewhere else? .... well speak up!

and I will make the final decision on Monday 1/18 of which w/e it will be ...

We are all set ... I have the GTG scheduled for 3 pm on 3/20 - they had just too much going on the 13th .... if we could arrive a little bit early that would help get us on the track closer to 3 pm as each one of us has to pay ....

He says the way they work it is if we have more than 12 and less than 24 he will divide us in half t... so if we have 16 he will divide us into two team of 8 .... 20 will get two teams of 10 .... and so on ...

so please ... if more what to sign up and attend just post here and let us know ....

ok ... there is a few hotels just south of where we will be ....

I believe we will be up around 19 mile on Van Dyke Av for the Karting .... so if you head a little south on Van Dyke there is a few hotels ... I found them via mapquest: there is 2 Hampton Inn's a Best Western and a comfort Inn along with a few other hotels ... they are located between 13 mile and 16 mile .... on Van Dyke Ave ....

If you head up Friday night let me know when you are around my area ... maybe we can do dinner? or just stop and say "hi"

If you want bring your flags ... on the ride from Kart2Kart to Fuddruckers we can fly our flags .... it is about a mile or two drive .....

We also still have space available ... so if more want to race we got a few more spaces .....

Im pretty sure he is. I wonder if there's a weight limit. He's a pretty big guy at 275lbs

Talked to K2K today. Both of the kids that are coming along are 17 so no DL/Learners permit needed for them. Ages 15/16 need one though.

Also, My brother will NOT be driving. Just coming along for the fun.

So the total for us is:
3 driving
6 for dinner

One more thing for those traveling up 275 by the airport. My brother tells me there's construction both northbound and southbound on the south side of the airport. Expect delays.

you shouldn't be going up 275 ..... unless that is way to your brothers ...

mapquest has me going up 75 to 696 east for 3 miles then getting off at Mound rd ... take that to 18 1/2 mile road turn right ... then go to Van Dyke and turn left ....

Anyone coming across 96 to 696 from the west want to meet up and carAVan in? There's a plaza behind the Shell station at Orchard Lake RD right of exit 5 of 696. Let's say 1:30 and that will give us time to be at K2K by 2:15 -2:30. It's close to my brothers and has easy access off of and back to the highway. No Michigan Lefts required Here's a pix of the area I'm talking about.

I need to thank Initimidatoruag (aka john) for putting this together. Had a great time and so did the kids. The karts were a blast and dinner was great too.

Here come the pix.

On the way there with Ron's Ambers in my mirror and the lineup once we got there.

The Sport Red avy was from Ontario and he saw the avy's and parked with us. Yes, I tagged him

I would be more than happy to plan this again this summer ..... we will have to talk more about doing this again ..... maybe by then I will have lost a few pounds ....

congrats to Johnny for winning the overall .... just wish I could have got my car from the first run ... wife says it was #1 ... and that was the only time it was run ....

and I comment ... if you ever need Trophey's plase let me know .... The guy that did them only charged me $10 each for them .... heck of a deal! ....

I had #14 first and from photos I think SirShop had it for finals.

I got stuck with #8 twice, got one decent lap to qualify, ran only .2 seconds off Johnny's winning pace for 5 laps, lost 2 seconds late in the 6th and it got worse. I wouldn't have beat Johnny but I wouldn't have got beat up and banged around for last 6 laps if my kart had held up. LOL! it was frustrating

Hell yeah I want to do it again
