New Speakers
« on: January 06, 2010, 05:05:58 PM »
My factory speakers in my AV died finally.  They have been buzzing like crazy.  The back ones were completely shot, and the front ones were going as well.  I have no idea why, as I don't blast my music.  Nonetheless, I used this as the perfect upgrade opportunity.

I installed four of these:

Focal Access 165CA1

Holy crap these sound awesome!  I absolutely love em.  I plan to add an amp sometime soon, but I spent too much on the speakers as it was!  Definitely a worthwhile upgrade though!  :kickass:

Yea...  mine wore out within the 4th year of use probably due to the reallly high humidity where I used to live.  The paper cones just don't last long in humid climates.

Those replacements look fabulous!

Did yours have the Bose system in it? If so, it has a factory amp that you will have to deal with.

WHERE IT REALLY IS ABOUT THE FRIENDS AND AVY'S, AND NOT THE ALMIGHTY ADVERTISING DOLLAR!

Mine did not have the factory Bose Amp.  I'm looking at a Fosgate or Focal Amp to put in there.  I just haven't decided which one I want to go with.

They look good, Peter.  Next time I see you, I'll have to hear them, my speakers are still good, but sooner or later they'll need to be replaced.
