I have spent two days trying to install a remote start in my 02 AVA and I tell you , I don't know how anyone can do this and try to make any money at it because it stinks!

I have everything wired but it will not lock or unlock and when it starts it will only run for a second and then die. Whats the deal ?

Any ideas ? Its a Directed Electronics 4103 kit with the DLPKGM door lock passkey interface.

Your '02 might have different wiring than what your install manual says you can use.

It will not trigger the door lock motor . It flashes the lights as it should with the fob during lock and unlock just doesnt trigger the locks. And it ddoes not stay running.

Ok,,found the install instructions. Do you have 2 ignition wires that need hooked up? I don't doubt your abilities, just wondering if you missed something on this.

Yep , starter 1 - yellow . ign -1 pink and ign -2 white 12v - red acc 1 orange . acc 2 brown . I got all the basic stuff and allot of the not so basic stuff but there must be one or two wires I'm missin.

tachometer wire? I read in there that it shuts off the starter after rpms are reached. I wonder if it's shutting off too quick.

I talked to a guy that installes these for a living and he said I do not need to install the tac wire. With the DLPKGM bypass you dont use hardly any of the wires from the starter kit. ????? Altough , I found a site that said the white Tac wire is in the ECM in the number 10 pin in the red plug. ( there is no red plug ) ???

We'll see if BlueDevil comes up with the ecm pinout to find that wire. I would think you can find it behind the cluster but that could be a pain.

How far are you from Canton again? You working on this at home or at the shop?

WARNING!!!!!! Be Very very careful... The 02's have a Sec 12 volt wire that MUST see 12 volts EVERYTIME you remote start it..If it does not you can blow your ignition mod and that will cost ya about $450.00 and your trans will lock up in 3rd gear.... How do I know because it happened to me down in Daytona,Fla.... 900 miles from home...

When I had my 02.... But my 08 came from the factory with it.....

do you remember witch wire it was ? I think I have all the 12v wires hooked up . But there must be something i'm missin for things to not work right.

OEM Anti-theft: Yes Type: PassLock 2

Notes:
(1) The BCM is located behind the drivers side of the dash. The plugs on the BCM face towards the rear of the vehicle. The parking lights are in pin A5 and the headlights are in pin A11.
(2) Use tan for the drivers door located in pin B4 of the purple plug, and for the passenger door it will be a orange in pin B2 in the purple plug or dk.blue/white in pin B11 of the lt.blue plug, must diode isolate these wires.
(3) PCM is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located at pin 10 in the "red" connector, and VSS wire is located in pin 50 of the "red" connector.
(4) Also found in the purple plug of the BCM.

Unlock and lock are on the brown plug A4 & A3 and not the lt blue as noted above.

I called the tec line . He had me do a few tests and none of them worked , ran through the wires , wire to wire. everything ok. he said sounds like a bad bypass mod. I bought two of these kits one for the AVA and one for the wifes Suburban . I pluged in the second bypass mod and everything worked first time. Still workin and used it this morning. They are sending me a replacement for the bad one. Yea !
