Topic: Tinted Taillight Covers

OK, I bought a set of tinted taillights without doing my research.  They look great, but when I turn on my lights, all you can see is a small white line from the bulb filament.  This is in the dark!!  Without going HID, what are my options for a brighter bulb?  The only 3157 Silverstars I can find at the auto store are Amber or Red.  The only PIAA's at Chux Trux were Amber.  This is all I could find after trying three different auto parts stores.  I'm open to any suggestions.  I really don't want to 'trash' my new lenses.

Damn those must be pretty dark, dont think there too much brighter you can do.  Guessing these are smoked OEM tail lights, there is an option you could try but wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you are doing and that would be to wetsand the tails until it gets a bit lighter and then buff them back to their previous shine.

Yep they are dark, Gene said I could use them as welding glasses.  Or view a solar eclipse through them.  We do have a friend that owns a autobody shop.  Maybe he can help?

Yeah ask and see what he can do, may probably suggest the same thing I said.  Wish you luck with that, smoked tails are awesome.

If you still having trouble with the taillights and dont want to get rid of them, you could add one of these.....

sorry if i buzzed up in this old topic, i just want to share my experience about the taillight and ]. i also installed the tinted taillight into my car. and guess what, it was super dimmer. so what i did into the tinted taillight? i dumped it. and call back my friend who sold that accessory to me. and we had fight regarding that issue. LOL..
