Do you guys recommend buying one of these kits vs. having a body shop sand and paint it for me?  I looked on the SLP website and it says that it is "painted".  Does that mean that it it will be delivered to me already painted to match the color of my Avalanche?  It is attached via double sided tape....is that going to be reliable?  Sorry if my questions are lame....I am a new Av owner and have never really done mods before.  Thanks

I bought mine at southern comfort,.... at one point they sold them painted when ordering for an extra charge.  ...but i bought them plain plactic and had my own painter do them.

I suggest you contact SLP via phione or email before you buy.

Thanks, I will definitely talk to them before I decide to buy.  So you think I should go the kit route rather than have my stock cladding sanded and painted at a shop?  BTW, your Av looks sick!  Nice job on everything.

Thanx man.  4 yrs in the making.

I would go the cheaper route.   Find and know a reputable body shop and ask how much they charge for the paint job.   (leaving the truck for a week with them).

Price ranges in the city you live in.  Could be $1k plus.   Worth it?   Hmmmm......

I think i paid $800 for my kit unpainted and $200 for the paint job.   The body shop is friend of mine.

Reason i went kit?   The AV was my only daily driver at the time and couldnt go with out.    ...and the obvious,  cheaper and it looks excellent.

Jeff (meyescndfvrtride) had is factory cladding painted but i dont know how much he paid.  He's from Missouri.

Thanks.  I will weigh my options.  The SLP kit looks pretty good.  I will shop around for both kits and body shops.  I want it to be as inexpensive as possible but I definitely want it to be high quality.
