Do you want the cladding smoothed or just black? If you just want black cladding you might want to look into GatorBack Coatings

You drive an 02 right? If so,your cladding is grey color so Gatorbackin' it will make it look nice and black texturized.

Or...... you can have it sanded down to a smooth feel like the (Cadillac Escalade EXT) and painted to match your Av. :thumb:

I would like to have the sail panels and the upper cladding along the top of the bed painted to match the rest of the body of my Av like the EXT.  It is a 2009 so there is no cladding around the body.  Any ideas as to how much that would cost me at a good body shop?  I would also like to have my gold front and back bowties painted black.  thanks in advance.

Yes they both are gone. A few Co's that only made truck stuff have closed up. SC has sort of reopend. SLP makes things for cars and trucks. Here is a pic of the kit..

Do you guys recommend buying one of these kits vs. having a body shop sand and paint it for me?  I looked on the SLP website and it says that it is "painted".  Does that mean that it it will be delivered to me already painted to match the color of my Avalanche?  It is attached via double sided tape....is that going to be reliable?  Sorry if my questions are lame....I am a new Av owner and have never really done mods before.  Thanks

Thanks, I will definitely talk to them before I decide to buy.  So you think I should go the kit route rather than have my stock cladding sanded and painted at a shop?  BTW, your Av looks sick!  Nice job on everything.

Thanx man.  4 yrs in the making.

I would go the cheaper route.   Find and know a reputable body shop and ask how much they charge for the paint job.   (leaving the truck for a week with them).

Price ranges in the city you live in.  Could be $1k plus.   Worth it?   Hmmmm......

I think i paid $800 for my kit unpainted and $200 for the paint job.   The body shop is friend of mine.

Reason i went kit?   The AV was my only daily driver at the time and couldnt go with out.    ...and the obvious,  cheaper and it looks excellent.

Jeff (meyescndfvrtride) had is factory cladding painted but i dont know how much he paid.  He's from Missouri.

Thanks.  I will weigh my options.  The SLP kit looks pretty good.  I will shop around for both kits and body shops.  I want it to be as inexpensive as possible but I definitely want it to be high quality.
