Navigation cd noise
« on: October 20, 2009, 04:12:52 PM »
Just bought an '09 Avalanche LTZ with Bose sound and navigation system.  The navigation system makes an annoying sound like the cd is moving "buzz buzz" "buzz buzz.  It even does it when the vehicle is shut off.  My dealer says "that's the way it is...everybody hates it."  That sounds stupid to me.  I removed the navigation cd and the sound stopped.  Any ideas about how I can have the navigation system operate without that annoying sound?
Thanks,
BigElvis

I would first go look at another 09 and make sure he knows what he is talking about. Doesn't sound right to me though.

Every GM factory navigation I have been around has made that noise.  Normal for GM.

OldVMer just had the same issue with his 09, They changed out the deck and it isn't as loud as the original one was. I think Intimidator also mentioned something about his doing it.

BTW  :welcome:

Do BMW's use Bose from factory?  I was reading they have the same issue.

I always thought Bimmers had Blaupunkt instead. :dunno:

Right before Labor Day, they were on their way back from Colorado and his 03 sucked in a spring at 220,000+ miles. Dealer had an engine there and could have put it in for 6K. Terry drove home a new black LTZ.

You can try to get the unit replaced but OldVMer was telling me that even after they changed it out, it made the noise. Just wasn't as bad.
