Any easy to install remote starters available?
« on: October 18, 2009, 07:33:58 AM »
Are there any that don't require a engineering degree and 6 years of school to install? I have a 04 Avy and wouldn't mind a RS in it. the last time I tried it (15 years ago) on my mothers dodge stratus I could get it to turn over but would not start, I jerked it out and had one installed for her but it was expensive. I am hoping the technology has advanced a little making for an easier install. (like plug it into the cigarette lighter and it's done    )

Any suggestions?

Don't know about easy but I had one installed a few yrs back for Gina. It was an Autostart brand. If I remember right it was around $400 installed, oh and at the time they were giving away a free 1 hr massage at the local Dayspa so she got her stocking stuffer as well that day.

After selling them for the past 15+ years All I can say is the newer the car the harder the install. For a Avalanche like yours you should be able to get it done for between $175-300 tops parts and labor. and lifetime Warr. Viper/valet is one of the most used brands.   I can get the parts needed Starter and transponder for about $110.00..The rest is all labor. Do you want a Alarm with it?

Don't really need an alarm, What model numbers do you suggest?
