I think it stands for "Evaporative Gas Recovery", or something like that.  I had one go out on my 1994 Bonneville before I traded it in for my Cobalt.  The part was less than $30, but I got raped on the installation ($150).

I doubt you have the EGR since:

1.  None of the ones you are looking at have accommodations for it.

and

2.  My 03 doesn't have it.

The best thing to do though is to take a look at your exhaust manifolds and see if there is any extra plumbing attached to them.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

Edelbrock website shows part # 65022 good for '01-'08.  USMC and I just put them on our trucks.  They are ceramic coated and fit very well.  Summit has them $350 to your door.

well before all you guys think about going out and getting those EDELBROCKS read this. Just talked to summitracing.
Those specific shorties only the the 2006's and down. They arnt sure if they will fit the 08's just Edelbrock said they wont, but i will be calling Edelbrock tomorrow to find out. The same ones made specific for the 08's in ceramic almost cost double of what USMC's did haha

well guys it looks like we stumped SUMMIT RACING!! :cacrocks"

after calling summit and getting the information about those Edelbrocks and how they dont fit, i opened my email tonight and looky what i found!!!

Hi Tom,
Yes these headers from Edelbrock will fit Chevy Avalanches from 2002-2008 with the 5.3 and the 6.0L. We have confirmed it with Edelbrock. Our site has to be updated manually when fitment updates are received and it just takes some time.

Thank you for your interest,
Summit racing Technical Department

hahah looks like that well save me 350 bucks on the other ones for the 08 when im ready to get them. :yourock:
