Help a brother out--wife thinks the skier looks (not a nice word)!! They are the same color, but phone camera on skier.

I prefer the AV, but the skier looks good too! I couldn't vote for both.

Hmmmmm,,,,,have to see what my wife can do with her Cricut machine about that. I'll show her this thread in a little bit.

Well, I washed it Sunday after we met, and it looked great! for 12 hours. Then it rained. :D I'll wash it on Monday and get shots once the rain is outta here.

Yeah, well just to grate your cheese, here it is ALL DIRTY!

I opted to keep the original grille in place. I'd screw that up. :) I'll color the screws at some point, but rain was coming and I didn't wanna get soaked. Got a chance to get some photos while I was getting gas! :) I'll post more when it is all clean!

I knew that combination would look good on that black AV. Just imagine how nice it will look all shined up!!!

Yep, it'll look lots better. I'll likely spray the original grill with some kind of black so it blends better. Now that the holes are drilled reinstallation won't be so bad.

It really came out nice Paul!!! Like I said, I should have taken that one.

Just take the insert off, rub the plastic with some denatured alcohol and paint with some Krylon Fusion Satin Black--that should hide/match up very nicely!! I like that combination on your truck. Got the rack on mine and LOVE it! Just need to get some snow within 500 miles of here and I'm gone. Thanks again!

but got a question. I am in the process of painting my bowtie and putting on a decal. Which is the best way to do this?

paint bowtie, put on clear, add decal

paint bowtie, put on clear, add decal, put on more clear

paint bowtie, add decal and put on clear

I want to this this one time and to do it right. The bowtie is painted, just waiting on the right decal to put on. The paint I used the instructions on the can said the paint will cure in a week, so I figure around Thursday, I will be putting on clear.

I'm not the guru by any means, but I have always painted the bowtie, let it cure for a couple of days and put the decal on. I have had problems denting the paint if I did it any sooner. Make sure that all corners of the decal are applied firmly. I usually wait another 24 hours and go over the decal again to make sure it is flat. I've had problems with the decal wanting to curl up on the ends if not applied firmly. I then shoot several light coats of clear and let it dry. I like to spray the last coat in the sun to make sure it is even and let it bake on. This process seems to work for me. Believe me this process has been refined through a lot of trial and a lot of errors. Good luck!!

Thanks for the tip. I am thinking of one of two decals. I want either a transformer autobot decal, or the one I am leaning towards is the monster energy logo. I have a sheet of them, but of course the size I need I already used. Just waiting for a coworker to see if he has any.
