Oil Filters.....
« on: September 28, 2009, 09:21:01 PM »
I was going to change the oil in my AV for the first time and went to pick up a filter and noticed it was kinda small. I know in the S2K world you could get an oversized filter for more oil capacity/ more filtering element. And wondered if anyone does the same for AVs? And which brand everyone likes or dislikes....

They make a dual filter remote setup for these trucks. I myself pay my mechanic to change mine. It's about $25 - $30 and I stay clean. Also, I have it documented for my warranty.

WHERE IT REALLY IS ABOUT THE FRIENDS AND AVY'S, AND NOT THE ALMIGHTY ADVERTISING DOLLAR!

I have never heard of installing an oversized filter.  As for brand, I put nothing other than Mobil1 in both my Avalanches.

I don't know, I just ask my mechanic to change it when he changes the oil.  I don't want to mess with the disposal of the old oil.

While I'm not picky about the filter, I am about the oil.  Redline full synthetic, 5w 30.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......
