dual alternator?
« on: October 16, 2010, 08:00:10 PM »
I have a 05 av with the 145amp alt. Currently I am running a jl 1000/1 and a jl 300/4. I have done the big 3 upgrade with all 1/0 awg wire. I wanted to upgrade to a ho alternator but was thinking about just running dual alternators. As in adding a entirely new electrical circuit in my av specifically for my audio system. Could some one tell me the pros and cons to doing this?

For those 2 amps you don't need 2 Alt's.. Check out Ohio Generator. They have what you need and are one of the Best and most reliable you can get. They have 2 for our trucks one 180 - 260peak  The other is a killer one that peaks at about 300 But that is for those with about 5000 Watts.. By the way with those amps and the 0Ga you ran did you upgrade the Power wire from your Alt to the Batt and the Ground wire by the motor?  Very important!!

ohiogenerator@sbcglobal.net Here is their email address Ask for Tom or Gus..

Also if you change out the Battery check out Kenitc (spelling)  Better then the Yellow tops that everyone gets..
