Fishy emblem removal
« on: December 22, 2006, 07:04:20 PM »
To remove the emblems or molding attached with double-side tape, tie a piece of fishing line to two sticks or screwdriver handles and slid the fishing line between the truck's paint and the emblem. Slowly glide the fishing line along the surface, and the emblem should come right off. This technique will not damage the paint or the emblem.  :thumb:

Wonder if this would work for the cladding at the bottom of my tailgate?

It would look weird, you'd have an even bigger gap between bumper and bottom of tailgate.

Hey Sunburst sell me the skin off that tailgate ya got :)

It's best to park with the sun on anything that you want to remove. Try using a hair dryer if the sun is not out. Warm it up good and then try the fish line. WD40 works well to clean up the tape residue or there are products out there for that...GOO-GONE etc.
