I retired 1 Jan and am at 70%. We'll have to talk at Bratfest.
Just a quick heads up to all. I have been dealing with the VA for almost 4 years now with my disabilty compensation, and have basically learned the system inside and out as I did everything on my own (currently at 80%, but expect to be at 90 or 100 soon). So if anyone has ANY questions or needs help in any way, just ask on here or you can get a hold of me at durhamseanr@hotmail.com. Also have done the same with education benefits and am willing to help in any way I can, I am only a key stroke away brother! I love helping brothers get what they deserve for serving the greatest country on earth (lets just hope it stays that way!)!
Not sure about the Marines, Are you talking you sent it to the VA for review? If so their website has some great info on it and you should be able to find some numbers. Everyone I have talked to from their website was very informative and did not mind answering questions at all.
No it was sent to the Naval Discharge Review Board. Its somewhere in DC. The VA doesnt review discharge. Each branch does their own respectively.
That's what I wasn't sure about, the VA review or the service review. As soon as you hear about your discharge, you should be able to setup your VA physical. Try and get that done before your discharge because it will not take as long to get a result from that. If you wait until you are actually discharged to get your physical, it could take up to a year to get a VA result.
