Topic: 3 button key fob #15042968 replacement or parts?

I have two key fobs for my Av and both of them have the letters wore off of the grey/red rubber piece, can this rubber piece be replaced or do I have to replace both key fobs and reprogram?  I found some key fobs on ebay but didn't see any of the rubber pieces on the inside. See below for the numbers off the back, I guess both fobs have the same numbers??

I havn't taken mine apart for the avy but you should be able to tell if those rubber parts are just "gaskets" or not by pulling one apart.

You only need to buy 1. I'd get a new one on Ebay. Then just follow the instructions in the owners manual to program it.

It's probably not worth trying to find the replacement parts.

Just look around on eBay and find the cheapest new replacements you can get - some sellers sell used fobs so read the fine print. They typically come with access to reprogramming instructions and it's not hard to do. I only had one remote for my daughter's Taurus and bought a new one on eBay for $6 + shipping of $4.

The rubber buttons are a one piece thing that sandwiches between the circuit board and the fob.
You can pop the fob apart with a screw driver or thin coin.

If you want new buttons, buy another remote and swap the button piece into your old one or swap the circuit board in.

Looks like farmguy and MyBigToy are probably correct, I just need to find a new one on ebay and buy it!

They are all over the place. You do not have to be Avalanche specific. Any GM fob will work.
