Whether you want to join the Fantasy Football league or not, you're invited to join us for our Live Draft party at Jonathan's Grill in Cool Springs on August 22nd. The Live Draft will be taking place at 3:30 however we should meet a little early to make sure we can get connected and are able to do the draft. We can meet at 3:00 and get settled in... When I get at least 10 people (spouses and friends are invited too...) I will set-up reservations for us. The great folks at Jonathan's say this should not be a problem, so bring it on.

You DO NOT need to participate in the draft to join us. Come out and watch or just meet up with your fellow members of the Avalanche Club. You also do not have to show up at the draft party to join the league - but we'll miss ya!

Sorry Mark, but I need to bow out of the GTG. I still want to be in the league though. Wife's boss had something come up for that weekend, now my wife has been tasked to babysit customers at the Bristol race in the UPS suite. I'm being told that I have to tag along. Suite, free food/beverages and the night race at Bristol - vs - fantasy football draft? I'm leaning towards heading up I40/I81 to the race. Hope you guys have a great time!

I can understand that!!! We went to a Bristol race and was "wine & dined" in one of the suites; that ranks right up there with one of the best times we've had... Hope you get to enjoy the race.

I grew up and parents still live about 5 miles from the track and never went to a race while I lived there. Always went to the drags at Thunder Valley though. Have been to 7-8 races since I moved away and the night race at Bristol has got to be tops on my list of sporting events to go to. It is a blast!! And the scenery around there is not to bad either!!!

Funny, I grew up 30 minutes away from the Football Hall of Fame and as much of a football fan I am; I never went there until I moved away... I think I'm due for a trip now that they FINALLY inducted Art Monk and Darryl Green.

They even let the cheerleaders in before the game.

I received an email about having a live draft party Otter's Chicken Tenders. They serve hot wings (a TNAV's staple food) and they have a room we can use for our draft party. Here is a clipping from it:

Why not rent the BULLPEN and let us do the cleaning up?

Hookups to our HD projector for you laptop, dvd player or Wii.

$150 food and beverage minimum

If enough people are interested we might check into moving our draft party to there. We do need to have a minimum of $150.00 so if we only spend $100.00 in food we need to pay the difference of $50.00.

So, if you're on the fence about coming, please let me know to see if we have enough interest to meet the $150.00.

Just Scott (Earthquake) It was good seeing him again and doing our picks (note to self,

do not mention who your next selection is to the person who is picking before you

) But I know others had very good reason that kept them from coming out. Besides spending a weekend in Nashville is very enjoyable (not too mention tiring - I'm beat!) But it's always good to see people in my extended family. I just need to plan on something more enjoyable for the next trip. I think next one will be better - unless I bring rain with me.
