I like the way the midgate on the 09 works.  To be able to leave the glass in place and drop the midgate is cool.

You can do that with a 2007 also..  Leave your window in place and turn the handle..  The lower postion of the midgate should drop down leaving the window in position..

All years do the same 02-09 and work the same...Did someone (dealer) tell you something different?

Yep, they all do that. Now if only they would split it to be able to get in through the midgate without having to lower both seats.
