Author Topic: Long Island Camping GTG Wildwood State Park Oct 2nd to Oct 4th (Read 3023 times)

Mark your calenders and pack your tents and spare underwear. We are having another camping GTG on Long Island. Anybody that came last year had a great time and we need more people this year to have even a better time

Go to www.reserveamerica.com to reserve your site for a mere $15 a night. They also have spots for campers and Wes and his brother took advantage of one last year. You want to look near site D032 to reserve your site. I have that site and all the other around it are available. Its near the bathrooms and showers which I found out last year have been renovated since I last been there. Very clean and modern. Also its late in the season and not very busy so you can shower when you get stinky. We are actually getting there on Thursday incase somebody wants to come out early. Also don't forget to secure Sunday night as well even though we don't stay it allows us to enjoy Sunday and not have to rush out by 11am. Its well worth the $15. Great Idea Scotty

I am sure as soon as Scotty gets back from his awesome bike ride he will post up some great ideas as he lives out in that neck of the woods. Maybe Jsal69 will set up a wine tour as the winerys are close by. Bring your fishing gear as we are a 10 minute walk to the Long Island Sound. Lets make it a great GTG

Ok Ive been under the radar for the last few weeks as I have been in Arizona doing a Motorcycle tour but I made my reservation today. Lets see if we cant fill that park. We had a great time last year and this promises to great again. I also spoke to a few missing people (Top Secret for now) who may make the trek down too. Ill bring the Capt Morgans!

Hey I wont be able to camp over night as I have the rugrat and I think he is still a little on the young side for camping but I will make the drive out to come hang out during the day on sat and possible sun.

looks like last year for me. Ill be able to hang out some but I dont think I will be able to stay. I have a Back to back Bagpipe gigs on Sat Am and on Sunday. Sunday will be an all day for me as it is at Riverhead FD for the open house where the pipe band practices and I am also a member. Plus I been working my butt off setting up for the Spookywalk. Sucks to be me.

We will be there Thursday night so Friday we will be there all day.

Right now it looks like 50% chance of rain on Saturday. We are thinking about going to Atlantis Marine world if it does.

It looks like Saturday is a wash out so we will head over to Atlantis Marine world around 10 or 11am. Hopefully the rain will stop Saturday night

Sorry about that hun. I got so crazy busy that weekend. I wound up having to work and then I got sick and there was some other crap going on. Sorry that I never made it out.

What happened it is that another event got scheduled the week before and kind of deleted the group that came last year. I set up the Spooky walk every year for Charity so all I could do was stop by. It takes litterally a month to set it up. Its a shame because we had a great time last year and its a great place.

Stuff like this is what makes me glad I stepped down. Disappointing.

I've been to Long Island once in my life and it was at night during the winter to pick up some people. Other than the pix I see on TV Shows, I've never seen much of it. If you go, get some pix up. I'd love to see more of what it has to offer.

Your not missing anything...Strip mall heaven and to many people and traffic only second to LA

If we didn't have friends and family there we would never go back
