What do you think of this scoop?
« on: July 13, 2009, 07:52:40 PM »
Adding this scoop to my 04 WBH - What do you think, I really like it, Fits decent and does not scream "top fuel" or anything too crazy. Opinions welcome. BTW - How the heck do you look for posts that you have replied on?

Thx.

That looks very good.  Is that an aftermarket hood or just add-on scoops?

Looks good!

It actually fits really good in that location, I would like it slid back a few inches but the AVY hood is flatter than the Dodge and it has about 1/4" gap along the sides then. Believe it or not that is the factory Dodge red, Matches really good.

It looks good where it sits.   Long time ago i eye balled them to make sure if they would fit my factory hood but never made a move on it.

I agree that it looks good and that it would look better slid back a few inches. Could you cut some of the back of the scoop off to allow it to slide back?

The center along the sides is agout .250" high so I would need to trin all along the sides and the back and then the gasket wouldn't work. (it's molded plastic) + then I would need to paint.  I think I am going to run it where it's at. Thanks for the compliments.

Looks great. I'd be scared to death to start drilling into my hood.

I'd bolt it on too since it won't require a costly paint job.

If you ever get it repainted then mig-weld it into place permanently first. my .02 cents

Well, Here it is installed. I was able to move it back about 4" and I think it looks a lot better.   The angles on the side of the scoop flow really well with the angles on the hood. The hood & scoop are all fingerprints as I just got done bolting it down 2 minutes before the pictures.

I'm don't like red and I think it looks great.

It's just a color thing, red is my least favorite color but I'm a fan of solid colors.
You can paint it black to match cladding someday if you want a new look.
