Yep, that's pretty much how the bypass works.
You might have to move a wire or two in the Metra connector to match the speaker wiring of the AV if I'm not mistaken but it's easy to do. Then all you have to do is match the correct speaker in wires to the out wires. Piece of cake.

Good luck.

Sorry to be a pain in the  :ass1000: but do you have any pics of the Metra amp bypass harness after you wired it?  I installed my new head unit and didn't go with the PAC OS-1 On-Star interface module and so far no problems!  I love my new head unit!!!

Thanks, I appreciate it!!!  I will be running an aftermarket (Alpine) amp so my speaker wires will come from it.

Bump!!   banghead1

OK, i had to go with a different head unit, the one I originally purchased (JVC Arsenal KD-AHD59) was listed as having 4-channel preamp outputs but that's not the case.  It would only control the front speakers and a sub, I don't plan on going with a sub so I thought I could use those outputs for the rear speakers but that won't work.  I spoke with one of the techs from Crutchfield and he also thought this head unit was misleading as being called a 4-channel so I'm returning it for a head unit with 6-channel preamp outputs.  See my new head unit on the attached link.  It is also a JVC, (JVC Arsenal KD-A805) my thoughts are I could swap it out without redoing the harness.  See the attached link of my new head unit.

Yeah, it should sound pretty good!  The unit I currently have installed (JVC KD-AHD59, not enough outputs) sounds so much better than the factory head unit. I can't wait till I get everything installed!!

So I follow the link to check out your new stereo ( looks cool :coolsmiley: ) and I notice it says 5 techs are waiting to answer your questions. So I call them and ask the tech that answered if he could answer a question for me. He says "sure". I asked him what the winning mega millions numbers are gonna be for Fridays drawing and he hung up on me.  :wtf:  the guy had no sense of humor at all.  :idiot2:  2funny

Be patient - you'll see it at Bratfest. By that time he should have everything done, including a fully tweaked engine (at least as fully tweaked as a Predator can go).
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!
