Did you know?Chevrolet first used its "bowtie" logo in 1913.

Very cool Joe. We should meet at Gateway Raceways and do some test runs this summer.
I may be up for some of this!
Good deal! Joe. Are you bringing that with you on your trip? When can do a quick check of your fuel trims while you're here and see where they're at.
yeah, should get the LTFT's / fueling dialed in first via the injector slope setting, before adjusting the WOT timing and stuff... you may very well find that once you adjust the fueling correctly so that your average LTFT's are in the 0 to -2 range, that you can bump up the timing some more - since you'll have more fuel at WOT after the slope adjustment... cuz I haven't seen one yet that doesn't run on the lean side and needs to have the slope adjusted to anywhere between -3 to -8% to richen it up a little, cuz the trims were off and positive... and after a flash, things will be relearned in 50-75 miles...
I guess one of these days I should let somebody who knows what they are doing use the Hyptertech programmer that I won on my AV
Bing it with you to Richie's and we'll load it up at the GTG.
I had a Hypertech. It is very easy. Doesn't have the flexability of the Predator, therefore it is really hard to screw up.Maybe should arrange a time for you to do it when I can be on the phone with you and talk you through it?????
If he hasn't messed with something as straightforward as the Hypertech after owning it for four years, he doesn't need more flexability.
Quick question, my AV is still under warranty, so is this something I can do or should I wait for the warranty to expire?
I already have e-fans since mine is an '05 so I am good to go as far as that.
You're all set then. You can tune it, tweek the tune if you like and save it, then return it to stock if need be
x2The only real problem is if your truck breaks down hard on the road and you don't have a chance to get it reprogrammed. I can't say for sure, but I don't think most service techs would catch onto your program not being stock anyway. If they reflashed your computer for any reason, you would loose the hypertech tune. You would have to let hypertech know what happended and you would have to send the unit back to Hypertech so they could set your unit up to download their tune again.
Same thing for the predator? Where is the best place to get one?
bear with me on this. so with the custom tune I don't need a handheld or anything. just pull the pcm and send it in?
Heard from FH a few hours ago. He should be in Canton by now visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I got this in an email from him"Just gassed up East of Richmond, 17.536 MPG!"I don't know what his driving habits were so far, but that beats what the window sticker on these trucks advertise
Thanks Mike, I appreciate your post to let everyone know!!!! That was my best MPG from our entire trip. I still need to get with Joe (MyBigToy) so he can help me with the LTFT's, I may be able to better the 17.536mpg? My driving habits were 70mph, stayed pretty steady at that, didn't go much above.
I'm out of town this weekend and on a business trip next Monday & Tuesday. Then we leave for vacation on Friday and won't be back until July 3rd or 4th. We'll have to look at sometime after that. I'll give you a call if I have some free time before then, unless you want to come help repair a drain tile tonight!
