What's the "headers" for USMC?  What purpose do they serve?

Dang it, here we go again   banghead1

Headers replace the stock exhaust manifolds, which bolt directly to the engine (pretty much surrounding your spark plugs), and are the first part of the exhaust system external to the engine heads that the exhaust gases pass through.  Performance-wise, the reason for doing this swap is similar to the reason for going to a better-flowing (and usually louder) muffler, although unlike the muffler, headers don't have a great impact to sound.  The best headers will have equal length tubes for each cylinder, with the length of the tubes tuned so as to through exhaust pulse wave dynamics, help to pull the exhaust gases and the intake air-fuel mixture out of/into the engine.  The shorties are too short to be optimum for the engine speeds our engines are normally running, but they are less restrictive than the stock manifolds.  Long-tubes are often preferrred for this reason, but since they are longer than the exhaust manifolds, they are not a drop-in replacement for the manifolds and require additional modification to the rest of the exhaust system.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

Well ladies and gents, I think I will go ahead and do the headers here at the house (sorry to get everyones hopes up) but OBB brought up a good point. So I will hopefully get them done before Bratfest. Although I will do a detailed write up on the install with plenty of pics to make up for it! I just wanna make sure I can take the time to help out Darren do his tailights (no, didn't forget about ya brother!) as it does take some time to do right. Also just frees up more time for more mods!! I would hate to have somethin happen during the install of the headers so far from my house, so with that said I will be able to show em off at Bratfest as they will already be installed! Wow! What a turn out this is gonna be we can't wait! Lookin forward to meetin everyone! :cacrocks"

I think that's a good idea.  With the gtg being on a Sunday, and the following day a holiday, it might take a while to get your hands on a simple thing like a bolt and you'd be stranded.  Better to be stranded at home.

I think most people are bringing food and stuff.
If we end up running short, we can always go to the local store and get more.
There is just about any store you could want within 15 minutes of the park.
