HID Projector Project (Cladded)
« on: December 04, 2006, 07:44:35 PM »
Gonna start this thread to keep track of the progress of my HID Projector retrofit project for the AV.  Going to put up as many pics as I can that way someone who maybe want to do this to their AV will have something to get a guide from.  :thumb:

Here's a list of stuff that I will be using on my set:

2005 Acura TSX Projectors (can find these on ebay)
       -Washer Mod
2.25" Chrome Custom Trim Bezels (for TSX projectors)
5000K D2S McCulloch HID Bulbs & Ballasts (Xenonking.com)
Acrylic Sheet (USPlastic.com)
JB Weld
Duplicolor High-Heat Paint (Black)
StreetGlow LED Singles (Blue)
StreetGlow LED Singles (Amber)
3-LED Pod (Blue)
Black Diamond Clear Corner Headlights
Cold Cathode Halo Rings (Blue)

Going to start by modifiying the headlight bezel to cover up the spot where the projector lens will going through. Used a dremel cutoff wheel to remove the piece shown so I could put flat piece of acrylic so make a flat area where I will drill hole for projector lense to come out of.

here is how it looks from the front, wasn't really thinking about it when I took the picture but the cardboard section of the tape roll shows kinda what it will look like with the halo ring that I'm going to be using since it's almost exactly the same size.

I kinda like it because this will set mine apart from the rest (you can send your headlights out to be done but the price I've seen is upwards of $1200).  As far as I know I'm not the first to do projectors in cladded AV but I will be the first with halo's (angel eyes) and projectors, don't even know if anyone with regular headlights even has done halo's :thumb:

The halo rings arrived today and here's what they look like

This is going to be as far as I go until after the holidays, I need to pick up the TSX projectors and bulbs to go any farther as I need the projector mounted before I can cut the whole in the bezel for the projector to go thru and that will also tell me where I will mount the rings. So stay tuned! :thumb:

Here's a little more that I had done a while ago . . .

Stock (cladded) headlights don't have any lights by the refelector like the turn signal does

Put blue LED there (pictured)  and will be adding a couple more to light it completely up in blue(on a switch with the rest of my illegal lights) and will also be adding a couple amber ones to keep it legal and tie them into the turn signals.  :thumb:
