If you love your Sirius or XM satellite service, now is the time to re-up your subscription for another three years. The newly unified Sirius XM is charging $2 for additional subscriptions and adding another $2.99 fee for Internet radio. The Internet radio feature does add a 128k premium feed option, which is nice. Subscribers can avoid the price hike by locking in their service before March 11. The increases are seen as a way for Sirius XM to raise money to fund its massive piles of debt. The satellite radio conglomerate wins either way; if you rush to lock in rates, the company gets an immediate cash infusion. If you wait and subscribe for more money, your individual subscription will bring in more money than it did before. We're obviously not too thrilled about this news, especially since it comes on the heels of a competition-killing merger. But to be fair, the two companies kept prices steady for many years, and that's not sustainable forever.

Gina actually uses it quite a bit. I don't care for it that much myself, and of course it is her Av so I don't get much say in the matter.

When we got the Saturn VUE,my wife had it for 3 months free.  We talked about subscribing yearly but it didnt happened.

....when i got the AV,.....same thing.

We had Sirius until last month.
Main reason we canceled was they eliminated one of my wife's favorite stations and the another one changed format slightly.
After that we realized there was only 2 or 3 stations we ever listened to.

They called about 2 weeks ago to try and lure us back.
The offer was pretty much an insult.
Instead of $271 for two years they offered $12.95/month with the two months free.
That comes to about $285 for 2 years.

The thing that really pisses me off is the one feature I use more than anything else is being taken away on March 11th... Their internet radio. I work long hours in front of a computer (I know, most of you don't think what I do is real work, but regardless) doing tedious design work. Every morning I go through my ritual of turning on my workstation, checking the servers, making the coffee, and then going back to my workstation and logging into XM Radio and kicking down to my Later Classic Rock Station, Classic Rewind...

For the last month, Sirius has posted a warning that this "free" service for the existing customers will be taken away on March 11th... They offer to continue it as a paid service on top of their rate hiked monthly service for the two XM radios I have activated...

I am "Siriusly" debating not adding satellite radio to my CarPC for this reason.....
