Chevy Avalanche Owners Love Big Wheels
« on: November 22, 2006, 08:03:29 PM »
"Based on a study done by Foresight Research, more Avalanche owners buy custom wheels that are 22 inches or larger than any other model of fullsize pickup," according to SEMA.

"Buyers of Tundra and Dodge Ram are more likely than all other owners to install 17-inch wheels. Ram buyers also install 20-inch wheels significantly more often than do others, while owners of Titans and F-Series show a significantly stronger preference for 18-inch custom wheels."

Guess I'm one who went against the norm with just going with a wider than stock wheel. I like to see tire as well as wheel I guess.

We have a lot of pot holes after a full season of snow.  20"s was the largest I was willing to go since they are still protected with a 6.5" sidewall if you go with 33" tires, although 24" wheels would have looked nice!

I just purchased a set of American Racing Vortech seventeens after much debate with myself and finally deciding that I wasn't willing to sacrifice my perfect factory ride in this truck. We also have an 06 Silverado that is on twenties and after 14,000 miles it has already had a major alignment and just doesn't drive as nice as my AV. Maybe I am just spoiled. :fast: Now if this ice and snow would let up here in Colorado I could have them put on!  :wtf:

Guess I'm one who went against the norm with just going with a wider than stock wheel. I like to see tire as well as wheel I guess.

Hey, I like to see a fair amount of tire too.  That's why I'm running 285/60/18s.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......
