Whats up MAC! Newbie here from Indy. I've had my AV for about 4 days now. I can't wait to start tearing to it. I'm a motor head by birth and a GM Head by choice. I got rid of my 03 ZR3 blazer to aquire my bigger and better Avalanche. Its Sport Red with Grey Armor.

I'm all about free mods, so feel free to fire away.

Its good to be here!  :thumb:

Welcome TheBiz! We try to have GTG's about once a month in Indiana, there is so much going on in the area now! Hope you get a chance to come out and meet some of the members and drool over their mods!

Ohh, I am having connection problems over here. Don't think I am ignoring you if I don't get back with you right away, I do check this site as I can.

Thanks for the welcome and was really hoping to make it to Muncie to day but not able to swing it.

Just finished the Amber DRL's mod and hoping to get down to Rat Shack to get necessary diodes and equipment to do the NRL/DRL mod this week.

Does anyone know where to buy the clips for the mag lite mod locally?

Ok Tdybr...HOW?  They don't have them at my Home Depot...

They had them in a "contractors series" of maglights and I told the department manager I didn't want that I wanted this blue one but I wanted the clips so he tore open the package and took out the clips and screws and handed them to me.  I asked him how I should tell the clerk to ring them up and he said to just put them in my pocket so I did!

From Dunkirk, IN I am currently in Iraq until Dec. of 2008. I just recently purchased an AV, Wife went and picked it up while I was here and when i came home for my 2 week leave I invested about $3,200.00 toward the stereo, exhaust, and exterior. The AV has cladding but i would like to remove the cladding or sand it down to where its smooth and completely black everything out on it. Anyone know an easier way to mess with the cladding or if I should just have it sanded smooth and paint it? thanks guys.

Thanks guys, i think as soon as i get out of here im going to try and get a few things done and make it to one of the events. Does anyone know about the price range of getting the cladding sanded down and getting the whole truck painted?

I'd really be scared to find out how much that would cost. That's a lot of labor hours in that project.

I've heard from $2500 and up for the cladding.  Not sure about the cladding and the whole truck...pricey.  But WOW what a great looking Av that would be when you're done  :goodstuff:  I love how the painted cladding looks - like Jeff's...very classy looking...

Stefan47336 if you are wanting to paint your cladding because it is faded and looks bad there is a product that a lot of members are loving called Refinish Restorer. It is a easy application and makes the cladding look new, it lasts a long time!

Hello all I am finally back from the War and ready to attend a GTG. I am trying to get a sponsor to help get rims and paint, seeing as how I am a broke veteran..lol. Plus I don't know how many of you watch the news but with the $165.50 hit I took when I got towed from White Castle during our welcome home ceremony. Looking forward to the next GTG. Oh and I now live in the Indianapolis area around castleton on 82 and Shadeland.

Does anyone in here own I believe its an 02' Red in color and work at Lowes on Shadeland Ave. in Indy? I see a Red Av sitting at the lowes across from my appt and its modded, its got a light bar on top and some other mods. If not I am going to talk to the guy about maybe coming to the next GTG, its a nice looking AV so I figured he was already a member. Thanks guys, also does anyone know if the Cadillac EXT from end clip will match up to an 02 AV? I was looking at one today parked right next to mine and there isnt alot of difference, I love the grille and the head lights of the EXT. Thanks.

I don't think the clip will match up to a cladded Avy. I believe I read somewhere that it fits the WBH (nekkid).

Hi Gang,
I am new to the Indiana group having introduced myself in the general newcomer section,  so I wanted to introduce myself first. I am Kevin and my wife Tatyana and we live in Fishers, Indiana.
We just bought our first Avalanche last March. It is a 2002 Z71 out of Michigan with 152k on the clock. Previous Silverado and Suburban owners, love the comfort of the Crew cab and the versitility of the bed and mid-gate. Dont know how long we will keep this one, want to sell or trade up to a newer year. Otherwise, I will probably be looking at replacing the engine.
Hope to meet some of you at any get togethers coming up.
Thanks,
Kevin and Tanya

Welcome Kevin and Tanya.

I live in Bloomfield, near Bloomington.  I've got 203,000 miles on my 03.  Engine is still running running strong, but just today wrapped up putting in a tranny from an 03 silverado.  Mine was starting to slip some in 2nd - plan on rebuilding it this spring.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......
